Zoe is probably one of the smartest members of the cast imo, like she seems to have an innate understanding of how other people think and who they are, the fact that she could logic out that Margret isn’t a bad person because Dom isn’t a bad person and once loved her, even though she’s currently mad at her for how she’s treating Dom, shows that.
She is! I mean, on this strip she’s sure that it was something Dom did, that’s he’s honestly not aware of, that got Margaret upset. So that’s why she goes and “confronts” the DA. Also because Zoé has read about Margaret before, she knows that Maragert is actually a fair person who’s open to listen, and then she uses the argument in panel 4
